Rollup-as-a-Service platform

PROBLEM

The original Gelato RaaS platform was difficult to scale. A narrow layout, limited sidebar, and inconsistent UI patterns created friction for users and slowed internal delivery. The lack of structure made it hard to add new services or surface important data quickly—key issues in a competitive, fast-moving space.

GOAL

Redesign the platform to support rapid iteration and enterprise-grade UX. Improve navigation, standardize layout, and surface key information with minimal friction.

ROLE

Product Design Lead (sole designer)

SCOPE

End-to-end design, navigation, visual identity, dashboard UX

Process

VISUAL & BRAND FOUNDATION

Started by refining the visual system—updating colors and typography to align with a broader brand refresh. The new look was clean, modern, and more aligned with enterprise users, our key target audience. This included a complete overall of the component library.

Scalable Navigation Framework

Designed a three-level navigation system used across all services:

  1. PRIMARY

Top-level nav for services and account access

  1. SECONDARY

Contextual nav per service (e.g., Rollup Creation, Management)

  1. TABS

Used within each service section to break down data types (e.g., metrics, settings)

This consistent pattern became the foundation for scaling new features without disrupting the UX.

New Dashboard

IMPROVED INFORMATION HIREARCHY

Introduced a centralized dashboard shown at login. It surfaces key metrics, alerts, and account activity—helping users immediately understand the state of their deployments and act faster.

Outcomes

SPEED

Enabled faster feature rollout by decoupling navigation from layout constraints

CONSISTENCY

Created a reusable pattern library and design system for future infra products

TRUST

Significantly improved usability and consistency across services

BUSINESS

Positioned the platform to better support institutional partners and advanced users
